Semi-Automatic Segmentation and 3D Reconstruction of Pelvic CT Images
Keywords: MATLAB, Computer Vision, Segmentation, 3D Reconstruction
Segmentation is a very important stage in medical image interpretation and processing. This project aims to develop a semi-automatic procedure for pelvic bone segmentation and 3D reconstruction from real CT data. Basic segmentation methods from previous works, like Adaptive K-Means Clustering and morphological approach, have been implemented and evaluated, while group members also proposed and discussed several self-developed methods, namely Key Layers method, and Adjacent Layer Comparison method, to optimize the final results. The 3D reconstruction utilizes Marching Cube Algorithm as well as volume data smoothing and upsampling. The project is developed in MATLAB environment.
