WELCOME

Hello and welcome to my site!

I'm Qiaozhi Wang, a licensed Professional Engineer in California with over 8 years of experience in mechatronics and systems engineering. My work spans electro-mechanical system design, embedded controls, cross-discipline integration, and end-to-end prototype development — from concept through validation and public debut.

At General Motors' Advanced Design Pasadena studio, I led the mechatronics engineering on concept and show vehicle programs. These vehicles were developed as fully functional prototypes under demanding timelines, requiring me to work across mechanical design, electronics, firmware, and fabrication domains to ensure systems perform reliably at public events and exhibitions. Notably, I worked on show car Cadillac Elevated Velocity which was recognized with the 2026 EyesOn Design Award for Best Concept Vehicle.

Prior to GM, I spent over six years at OffWorld, an early-stage space robotics company, where I joined as employee No. 2 and grew into the role of Senior Mechatronics Engineer and Mechanical Group Manager. Leading a team of 8, I spearheaded the end-to-end development of autonomous Swarm Robotic Mining (SRM) prototypes, and served as Technical Program Manager for Surveyor — OffWorld's inaugural robot product — collaborating with a multidisciplinary team of 30 engineers to integrate electro-mechanical subsystems, embedded software, and AI.

I hold an M.S.E. in Mechanical Engineering (robotics track) from Johns Hopkins University and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Science and Technology Beijing. I am currently pursuing the MIT Architecture and Systems Engineering certificate, sponsored by GM.
